Project overview
Industrial stair tower, shop-built and crane-set
Industrial stair towers are structural steel first and stairs second. This project involved fabricating a multi-storey galvanized stair tower at our Burnaby shop and installing it with crane support at a major distribution warehouse in Delta.
Warehouse work carries its own rules. The facility keeps operating while the steel goes in, so installation windows, laydown space, and crane positioning are agreed with the site before anything ships. The tower structure, stairs, guardrails, and landings were detailed in shop drawings, fabricated under C.W.B. supervision to CSA W47.1, and hot-dip galvanized for a coating that handles decades of exterior exposure without repainting.
The result is the kind of scope we like best: structural steel, stair fabrication, and site logistics handled by one shop, delivered to an industrial client that measures success in uptime.
- C.W.B. certified fabrication to CSA W47.1 at our Burnaby shop
- Hot-dip galvanized finish for long-term exterior exposure
- Installation coordinated around a live distribution facility
